THE PASSIVE (skill 5)

Pembentukan Passive Sentence itu tergantung grammar, pengertian kalimat tersebut, dan biasanya menggunakan akhiran akhiran “by”.Pada bagian ini akan di berikan penjelasan lebih lengkap sebagai berikut :

1. Pembentukan Passive Sentence untuk Simple Present Tense

·         Pola Active Sentence(kalimat aktif) yaitu : S + V + S/ES + O.

·         Pola Passive Sentence(kalimat pasif) yaitu : S + TO BE + V3 + BY + O.

 Contoh kalimat

Active Sentence : Mary helps the boy.

Passive Sentence : The boy is helped by Mary.

Pada kalimat aktif, struktur kalimat menggunakan Verb + S/ES karena memang sudah rumus dari Simple Present Tense. Pada kalimat pasif, Terjadi pergantian posisi antara Subject dengan Object dan terjadi perubahan Verb-nya menjadi  TO BE + V3 dengan di tambah by.

2. Pembentukkan Passive Sentence untuk Present Continous Tense

·         Pola Active Sentence      : S + TO BE + V-ING + O.

·         Pola Passive Sentence     : S + BE(AM,IS,ARE) +  BEING + V3 + BY + O.

Contoh kalimat

Active Sentence          : Bayu is writing the letter.

Passive Sentence       : The letter is being written by Bayu.

Pada kalimat aktif, struktur kalimat menggunakan TO BE + V-ING karena memang sudah rumus dari Present Continous Tense. Pada kalimat pasif, Terjadi pergantian posisi antara Subject dengan Object dan terjadi perubahan Verb-nya menjadi  TO BE + BEING + V3 dengan di tambah by.

3.  Pembentukan Passive Sentence untuk Present Perfect

·         Pola Active Sentence      : S + HAS/HAVE  + V3 + O.

·         Pola Passive Sentence     : S + HAS/HAVE + BEEN + V3 + BY + O.

 Contoh kalimat

Active Sentence                  : I have taken the examination.

Passive Sentence               : The examination has been taken by me.

4. Pembentukkan Passive Sentence untuk Simple Past Tense

·         Pola Active Sentence      : S + V2 + 0.

·         Pola Passive Sentence     : S + BE(WAS/WERE) + V3 + BY + O.

 Contoh kalimat

Active Sentence                  : Soimah ate sandwich yesterday.

Passive Sentence               : Sandwich was eaten by Soimah yesterday.

5. Pembentukkan Passive Sentence untuk Past Continous Tense

·         Pola Active Sentence      : S + BE(WAS/WERE) + V-ING + O.

·         Pola Passive Sentence     : S + BE(WAS/WERE) + BEING + V3 + BY + O.

Active Sentence                  : Alam was reading three books.

 Passive Sentence              : Three books were being read by Alam.

6. Pembentukkan Passive Sentence untuk Past Perfect Tense

·         Pola Active Sentence      : S + HAD + V3 + O.

·         Pola Passive Sentence     : S + HAD + BEEN + V3 + O.

·         Pola Passive Sentence     : S + WILL + BE + V3 + BY + O

Active Sentence                  : Ena will love me.

Passive Sentence               : I will be loved by Ena.
